Newspapers "QAZAQ UNIVERSITY"

“Qazaq University” is an official publication of KazNU. Its weekly publication started on April 20th, 1948. In January 2022, the newspaper was granted the status of a national publication. Circulation: 1000 copies. Its main goal is to inform university faculty and students of major events taking place in cultural and recreational spheres, university departments, and other significant educational, methodological, and socio-political settings.

Over the years, editors of the newspaper were truly masters of their craft, as well as outstanding educators, journalists, authors, and public figures. Such notable editors include S.R. Eleukenov, A.F. Marhabayev, S.K. Kozybayev, D.Y. Iskakov, K. Kamzin, K. Sak, S. S. Medeubekuly, G.S. Sultanbayeva, M.T Mykasheva, B. Ashirbayev, D. Smayil, S. Almibekova, A. Alimbekova, and D. Balabekuly. The newspaper’s current editor-in-chief is Gulnar Tazhieva.

The Al-Farabi Library holds issues of the “Qazaq University” Newspaper dating back to 1959, with a total of 835 issues. Issues from the last three years are available in the library’s periodical section, while earlier issues can be requested from the library’s book depository.
