At the Al-Farabi Library, an official meeting was held with a delegation from the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran). During the event, issues of bilateral academic cooperation were discussed, and valuable scholarly publications were presented as a gift to the university library.
The delegation donated the following works to the library: “Armenians of the Ottoman Empire Who Spoke Kurdish: Identity, Language and Print,” “Foreign-Language Manuscript Dictionaries of the Matenadaran,” “The Cosmographic and Geographic Heritage of the Matenadaran,” “Catalogue of Persian Manuscripts of the Matenadaran,” and “Catalogue of Christian-Arabic Manuscripts of the Matenadaran.”
The donated publications will provide new impetus to research in the fields of ancient manuscript studies, Oriental studies, Turkology, and historical scholarship.
As part of the meeting, an informative and engaging book exhibition from the library’s collection was also organized. The exhibition featured scholarly publications, several books from the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts (Matenadaran), works dedicated to the study of ancient manuscripts, as well as fundamental research in codicology and manuscript studies.
