A Valuable Gift from the Turkic Academy

Turkic Academy presented 137 books to the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University during the international symposium “The 100th Anniversary of the First Baku Turkological Congress: Turkology and the Turkic World,” held in Almaty. This valuable collection includes works dedicated to the history, literature, culture, spiritual heritage, and prominent figures of Turkic peoples.

The donated publications feature scholarly studies on ancient Turkic writing, the “Manas” epic, Kipchak studies, biobibliographical dictionaries, proceedings of international conferences, and works devoted to the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkic world. Among the notable additions to the library collection are En Eski Kuran Çevirisi (“The Oldest Translation of the Quran”), Sagynbaydyn Manasy (“Sagynbay’s Manas”), prepared by R. Isakov, the Biobibliographical Dictionary by B. Kumekov and N. Kuzembayev, Bir Kalem Ustasının Yaşam Öyküsü (“The Remarkable Story of a Writer”) by Kemel Tokayev, as well as international collections on Turkic civilization published within the framework of UNESCO.

The donated literature will enable researchers, academics, students, and a wide range of readers to gain a deeper understanding of the rich heritage of the Turkic world. Furthermore, these books have not only enriched the library’s collection but have also made a significant contribution to promoting the shared cultural values of Turkic peoples and strengthening spiritual and scholarly ties among them.
