Dear reader, we inform you that since June 14, 2024, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been granted access to the resources of the electronic library system “Center for Educational Literature for Universities“.
The center of educational literature for the university — an electronic library for inclusive education provides access to full-fledged educational literature in electronic form for people with visual impairment.
The portal presents a collection of 1000 titles of textbooks, textbooks and monographs for higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Many of the presented publications are bestsellers. Textbooks and manuals are presented in 3 languages: Kazakh, Russian and English.
The system is equipped with automated voice-over of educational material. This development is based on neural network technologies and allows the computer to produce high-quality voice acting with the correct intonation and correct stress.
A special navigation system has been developed and implemented – guided reading and a voice assistant. It allows people with special educational needs to comfortably distinguish between the main types of teaching materials that are present in any textbook – text, table, formula, graph, diagram, and not just listen to them, but control reading using the keyboard and navigate inside the book to the appropriate element.
A graphical part is provided – highlighting the current position in the book. It shows where a person with special educational needs is currently reading in a book. This will allow the teacher to see where the student is and explain the material to him. This tool will allow students to communicate and work together comfortably.
