Female Hero Hiuaz

Hiuaz Dospanova – the first Kazakh pilot, navigator-sniper in the Great Patriotic War made 300 sorties. She was one of the “Night Witches” – the legendary women’s regiment of night bombers. She took an active part in the liberation of Kuban, Taman, Novorossiysk, Crimea, Belarus, Poland. During her combat activity, Hiuaz Dospanova made 300 sorties. Together with her regiment, she “flew” to Germany. For bravery and bravery, Chiuaz Dospanova was awarded the Orders of the Red Star, the Patriotic War II degree, the Red Banner, medals “For the Defense of the Caucasus”, “For the Liberation of Warsaw”, “For the Victory over Germany”.

The al-Farabi Library presented a book exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Hiuaz Dospanova, the first Kazakh sniper pilot, a national hero of Kazakhstan.

Our exhibition presents books, encyclopedias, newspapers and magazines about Chiuaz Dospanova. The book “Kaharman kyz Hiuaz”, published in 2012, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the legendary pilot, presents articles, essays, memories of Hiuaz Dospanova.

The book “Arular otty zhyldard”, published in 1975, introduces us to the life and biography of Hiuaz Dospanova. The legendary pilot Hiuaz Dospanova was born on May 15, 1922 in the Guryev region, in the village of Ganyushkino. In 1941, at the beginning of the war, Chiuaz Dospanova, along with other girls, went to school near Saratov. And already in May 1942 there was the first combat sortie. The fairer sex were not only pilots and navigators, but also mechanics and technicians. Elusive – they were just such that the fascists even nicknamed them “Nachthexen” (“Night Witches”). In Alma-Ata, a street named after Hiuaz Dospanova was named. On one of the houses there is a memorial plaque in her honor. On June 24, 2017, a sculpture composition “Glorious Daughters of the Kazakh People” was opened in Uralsk on Manshuk Mametova Square. Heroes of the Great Patriotic War – Manshuk Mametova, Aliya Moldagulova and Hiuaz Dospanova – are immortalized in bronze.

Exhibition results: 98 students of the College, Faculty of Journalism, Philosophy and Political Science, Philology and others took part in the exhibition. The exhibition participants got acquainted with the biography and heroism of the legendary pilot, hero of the Great Patriotic War Hiuaz Dospanova, which helped to broaden their horizons, gain spiritual knowledge, not to forget the exploits of great ancestors, thanks to whom peace is now on Earth. No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten.
