Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the “XIV Forum of Young Correspondents” organized by the Faculty of Journalism with the support of the newspaper “Ulan.
In connection with this event, the Al-Farabi Library organized a book exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition: To show the gathered guests, students and readers with the works of our teachers in the field of journalism, with books about young correspondents of Kazakhstan and works about the media.
The exhibition consists of 3 parts:

- «Баспасөз-ұлттың үні, рухтың жыры»
- «Бұқаралық ақпарат құралдары»
«Журналистика алып мұхит». Journalism is a connection between the government and the people. A golden bridge connecting the two sides to each other. Journalism is a heavy industry.
In general, we can say that the concept of “Journalism” is “creative processing of what is happening in everyday life and current problems of society and popularization of its totality through the mass media (television, print, Internet, radio).” This section of the exhibition presents books by the luminaries of Kazakh journalism in 3 volumes, “the world of information” by N.Omashev, journalism by Kozybaev, Barmankulov, Kozhakeev, Uaydin, Kenzhalin, Idrisov, etc.
«Баспасөз-ұлттың үні, рухтың жыры». “Baspasoz-ulttyn uni, rukhtyn zhyry”. The activity of periodicals as historical sources is determined, their place in history is shown. The history of the Kazakh press began at the end of the XIX century and has reached our days and tells about the general state of domestic newspapers and magazines that have passed various stages of historical development. Periodicals are divided into three types: newspapers, magazines and periodicals of the scientific community. The terms used in connection with the designation of types correspond to their names at the present time. Periodicals can be classified according to their functions. The main purpose of periodicals is to form public opinion
«Бұқаралық ақпарат құралдары». The main tasks of the mass media are the collection, processing and presentation of general information to the public. Kazakhstan is a state that, since the first years of the Era of Independence, ensures freedom of the media within the framework of authoritative international documents in the field of press. In this section of the exhibition, books reflecting the tasks of the mass media were presented, as well as books by our professors and teachers who wrote in this field.
The reading direction of the exhibition: Guests, students and teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates, etc. gathered at the university for the event.
