Recently, not only Kazakhstani, but also the world media began to write about Alla Ilchun, who was called the oriental pearl by the famous couturier Christian Dior and other trendsetters of the fashion world. True, many are interested in how a Kazakh girl got into this world, who conquered the world catwalk at a time when Kazakhstanis did not yet know about the international world of fashion. Who is Alla Ilchun (Elshin)? How did she get into the famous Christian Dior fashion house? Why did we find out about this only now, after so much time? All this can be read in the books “Alla – the oriental pearl of DIOR” (in French) and “Muse of Dior” (in Russian), the presentation of which will take place today in the Library named after al-Farabi KazNU named after al-Farabi. The author of the books is our compatriot Berlin Irishev, who lived in France for many years and headed the Association of Kazakhstanis in this country.
