Located on the first floor of the Library, the Al-Farabi Museum is dedicated to life and work. the great thinker, scientist-encyclopedist al-Farabi (Fig. 3), whose name the Kazakh National University bears with dignity since 1991. The museum opened its doors in the new building of the Al-Farabi Library on April 13, 2013. As the first museum at the university dedicated to al-Farabi, it closely cooperates with the Al-Farabi Research Center at KazNU.
In 2020, work was carried out at the Al-Farabi Museum to modernize the expositions. Showcases have been revised and updated. The format of information presentation was qualitatively changed with the use of new technologies and multimedia tools.
A projected interactive book was installed with quotations from the treatises of al-Farabi (“abu Nasyr al-Farabi tractattarynan”) “On the views of the inhabitants of the virtuous city”, “On reason and science”, from the “Big book on music”, and from socio-ethical al-Farabi’s treatises.
