Dear readers and users of the al-Farabi library, we bring to your attention a new section where you will get to know our library in a new way!

The move to the new building of the Library was made in 2012, and the area of the building is 17 856.6 square meters!
The five-story library building is located in the center of the campus of the Kazakh National University, and the total area of the town is 81 hectares!
In 2014, our library was renamed the Al-Farabi Library, and was formerly called the Scientific Library!
The fund of the library has been formed since 1934 and today it contains more than 2.300.000 publications, while searching in the fund is easy, just open the electronic catalog and enter a keyword.
Every year, the library fund is replenished with tens of thousands of new editions, you can find out about new acquisitions from our quarterly newsletter, and by going to virtual exhibitions you can still briefly familiarize yourself with some of them.
More than 12,000 literature of our fund is also available in digital format on our full-text database.
In addition to the full-text base of our own generation, databases of our partners are also available, the total fund of which exceeds more than 10,000,000 publications, today KazNU named after Al-Farabi is signed to 10 partners:

Al-Farabi Library employs 70 employees of different ages, from experienced veterans of the library industry to graduates of universities in our country, you can ask librarians here.
