UNESCO Weekly Training Course for Central Asian Youth #UpradeYourself

The registration for a one-week training course #UpgradeYourself for youth from Central Asia to combat negative consequences of COVID-19 crisis is now open.

World Youth Skills Day 2020, which is annually, celebrated on 15 July, will take place in a challenging context. The COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures have led to the worldwide closure of educational and training institutions, threatening the continuity of youth skills development, which are important for their employment, decent work and civic engagement.

When?

The trainings will be conducted from 15 to 22 July inclusively with the duration of 2-3 hours each.

Who can participate?

•Young people from 14 to 29 years old
•Young people, who are interested in self-empowerment and skills development
•Young people, who are fluent in the Russian language
•Young people with a good Internet connection

How to apply?

Please complete the online form and submit it before 12 July.

Please make sure that you have entered a valid contact details, because we will need to send you the schedule with active online links.

What will you need?

•Prepare necessary stationery for taking notes when necessary
•Download a JitsiMeet free application to your mobile
•Make sure you are motivated to upgrade your skills

The most active participants of the whole training week will receive personalized certificates of completion of the courses.

Thus, UNESCO Almaty Office joins the UN global celebrations of #WYSD2020 by conducting a one-week of online training sessions for young people, including from the most vulnerable groups, with the experts from various professional fields. In result of seven training sessions from 15 to 22 July, young participants will be equipped with the key skills and competences, which may help them to improve their socio-economic conditions negatively affected by COVID-19 outbreak.

The proposed topics for a training week are:

15 July: “From Ideas to Actions” – How to transform your idea to business concept.
Developing the skills of young participants in project planning, using UNESCO Project Planning Tool.
Coach: Arina Myassoyed, Social and Human Sciences Programme Officer, UNESCO Almaty.

16 July: Business Basics and Financial Literacy
Developing the skills of young participants in managing finances, introducing to the banking system, business and income.
Coach: Anel Shakenova, creator of Anellafinance.com school, author of financial literacy course.

17 July: Influencer-marketing/Personal-Branding in Social Media
Developing the skills of youth in creating personal branding in social media, including the content development and PR.
Coach: Alyona Alfyorova, PR, Events and Strategic Marketing Manager, Senior Lecturer at SEI of AlmaU.

18 July: Social Media Marketing (SMM) for Promotion of Youth Entrepreneurship
Developing the skills of training participants in managing business on Instagram.
Coach: Serik Elmira, SMM specialist, trainer.

19 July:Youth Leadership to Combat Fake News and Misinformation
Developing media and information literacy skills of young participants for effective social dialogue and responsible citizenship.
Coach: Denis Bobylev, UNESCO Almaty Consultant on Media and Information Literacy, TV Producer and TV Host.

20-21 July: Design Thinking Skills (2 days)
Developing the skills of training participants in developing new solutions, ideas, concepts, products, services, using design thinking.
Coach: Saule Zeinolla, UNESCO Almaty Consultant on Education for Sustainable Development.

22 July: Introduction to the World of Ideas, Which are Worth for Dissemination
Developing the skills of TEDx storytelling, which helps youth to reveal difficult ideas in a simple language.
Coach: Larissa Pak, TEDx Almaty Curator and TEDx Ambassador in Central Asia.
