CONCEPT
online contest “Abai – ruhaniyattiң altyn Kazygy” (“Abai – the basis of spirituality”)
On the occasion of the 175th anniversary of the great poet, thinker, enlightener Abay Kunanbaev, the library named after al-Farabib will hold an online competition “Abai – Rukhaniyatty Altyn Kazyy”. Everyone can participate in the competition.
Date of the competition: April 6-28, 2020. During this period, all materials for participation in the competition will be accepted: applications, essays, videos.
Competition Objectives:
– Propaganda of spiritual values through acquaintance of readers with the rich book fund of the library, including reflecting the creative heritage of Abai;
– Definition of the best readers with high erudition and aesthetic taste.

The order of the competition:
1. Filling out an application for participation (in electronic form).
2. Writing an essay (in electronic form);
3. Video contest (recitation of excerpts from the works of Abay);
4. Summing up and rewarding.
1. Application for participation.
To participate in the competition, readers must fill out a questionnaire in electronic form. To fill out the questionnaire, click the link (Fill out an application). Participants can read the works of Abay Kunanbayev on the website of the Al-Farabi Library (PBB link).
2. Writing an essay.
After filling out the application, readers should write an essay to Abay’s read passages. An essay in electronic format, with a volume of 1000-1500 words, must be sent to our e-mail (Tastankulov.yerkin@kaznu.kz). Essays sent to the contest will be posted on the website in the form of an electronic collection, where each participant can see their work. A specially created jury will determine the best essays (essays should not be downloaded from the Internet). The best essays following the results of the competition will be recommended for publication in periodicals.
3. Video contest.
At this stage, the contestants must prepare a video with the recitation of an excerpt from the works of Abai and send it to Instagram with the hashtag # abai_175_alfarabi_kitaphana. Winners will be determined by online voting.
4. Summing up and rewarding.
To summarize the results of the competition, a special jury is created from among the university teachers and library staff. Winners will be awarded with special diplomas in various categories.
