Dear Readers,
On February 16–17, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the “Donate a Book to the Library” Campaign will take place in the Reading Hall located on the 2nd floor of the Al-Farabi Library.
As part of the campaign, you may donate scientific works, textbooks, fiction, as well as valuable editions and manuscripts.
General Selection Criteria
When accepting materials into the Al-Farabi Library collection, the main criteria are their relevance to the library’s thematic and typological profile, as well as their scientific, historical, and artistic value.
The Library accepts donated books in both traditional (printed) and electronic formats, including the following types of materials:
- Educational and teaching-methodical publications (published within the last 5 years);
- Scientific and popular science publications (published within the last 5 years);
- Art albums;
- Domestic and foreign fiction literature;
- Journals corresponding to the library’s profile or intended to replace missing copies in the collection;
- Rare, unique, and valuable manuscripts and editions.
