The Al-Farabi Library hosted a scientific and educational seminar entitled “The Personology of Science: From E.A. Buketov’s Concept of Linguistic Personality to Contemporary Turkic-Slavic Studies”, organised by the Research Institute of Turkic and Altai Studies and the Al-Farabi Library in honour of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Academician Evney Buketov. The aim of the seminar was to honour E. Buketov’s scientific legacy and demonstrate the relevance of his concepts and research in the field of linguistics.
During the event, the book “Linguistic Personality in the Personology of Science: Analysis of the Discourse of Academician E.A. Buketov” was presented. In addition, scientists who personally knew the academician and researchers who had studied his legacy in depth spoke at the seminar and gave recommendations to young scientists and students. Memories of the academician’s life, filled with science and research, will undoubtedly remain an eternal legacy for future generations.
It should be noted that Evney Buketov was a scientist who made an invaluable contribution to the formation and development of science in Kazakhstan. He paid particular attention to the fields of chemistry and metallurgy. Although he was a chemist by profession, he had a special love and interest in our literature. He also wrote works of fiction and was involved in translation. He was a member of the Writers’ Union of the Soviet Union.
