The Management of Library Technologies organizes the definition of the technical and production policy of the Library in the field of informatization, automation, and computer technologies.
Main Areas of Activity:
- Selection of necessary software and technical equipment
- Creation of automated workplaces
- Implementation, development, and improvement of the Automated Library and Information System (ALIS) IRBIS64
- Administration of ALIS IRBIS64
- Ensuring the safety of databases
- Support, maintenance, promotion, and content updating of the Library’s website
- Placement and updating of bibliographic databases on the Library’s website
- Support for the functionality of the Library’s electronic document archive
- Conducting archival data backups stored on the Library’s server
- General system and technical maintenance of hardware-software complexes, monitoring compliance with operation rules
- Technical supervision of the installation and setup of automation tools for library and bibliographic processes
- Development of proposals regarding computer and software issues when creating targeted and long-term programs, regulations, plans, and other Library documents
- Creation of a full-text electronic library, including by scanning especially valuable and rare editions.
