International scientific and practical conference “Margulan Readings – 2022”

The al-Farabi Library hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Margulan Readings – 2022” in conjunction with the Faculty of History and the Institute of Archeology named after. OH. Margulan.

A new stage of archaeological research in Kazakhstan accelerated after the establishment of the Academy of Sciences. From this period, archaeological research in the country was led by the Department of Archeology of the Institute of History. Central Kazakhstan archaeological expedition led by academician A.Kh. Margulana has been conducting research in the great Ark for many years.

In connection with this event, the Library. Al-Farabi organized a book exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition: to intensify scientific research of students and young scientists, to promote the implementation of creative ideas and new ideas of guests. Founder of the Kazakhstan School of Archeology, an outstanding figure in many fields of science: ethnography, history, oriental studies, literature, art history. Presentation of the contribution of Doctor of Philology Alkey Margulan to the generation.

The exhibition consists of 3 parts:

  • «Arheologiyalyk eskertkishter- kundy derekter»
  • «Arheologiya: kazhyrly enbek zhane mol mumkyndykter»

«Uly gulama Margulan» Alkey Khakanovich is a versatile scientist, Doctor of Philology, full member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, a well-known orientalist who has done a lot in the field of history and left a special mark in the development of Kazakhstani archeology as a separate science. Therefore, immediately after the establishment of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, the Central Kazakhstan Archaeological Expedition, formed at the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography named after Sh.Sh. Valikhanov, worked for 20 years

“Archaeologylyk eskertkishter – kundy derekter”. The first information about the archaeological monuments of Kazakhstan can be found in the works of medieval scientists and historians, geographers and travelers. In their works, they talked about unusual things, images, cities and villages that existed a long time ago, which they saw with their own eyes or were known to them. In this regard, the book “Kazakh Archeology” was published by the publishing house of the Kazakh University, authors: Baypakov K.M ., Taymagambetov Zh.K., Zhumaganbetov T. The main goal of the exhibition is to acquaint schoolchildren with the history of Russian archeology.

«Arheologiya: kazhyrly enbek zhane mol mumkyndykter» The Kazakh steppe is rich in historical and cultural monuments. More than 300 monuments of history and culture are registered only in the West Kazakhstan region. These include the underground mosque Shopan-Ata, the Karaman-Ata monument, etc. Most of them are located in the southern part of Mangistau.They are various structures, mostly made of stone. The largest monuments of history and culture are the mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi in Turkestan, the mausoleum of Alasha Khan in Saryarka, the mausoleum of Aisha Bibi and Karakhan in the Taraz region, the mausoleum of Babaji Khatun. There are a lot of historical and cultural monuments. Such monuments are being restored. The publication is intended for archaeologists and historians. There was also a book by Abilkhan Abilasanov “Syganak”.

Reader direction of the exhibition: Guests, students and teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates, etc. gathered for the event at the university.
