On April 7, 2022, Al-Farabi KazNU hosted the VI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Models of Teaching International Journalism for Sustainable Development” as part of the Farabi Readings, organized by the Department of “UNESCO, International Journalism and Public Media” with the support of the UNESCO Cluster Bureau.
In connection with this event, the Library. Al-Farabi organized a book exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition: to familiarize the participants of the conference, students, undergraduates with books related to journalism in the library’s funds.
The Faculty of Journalism is one of the first faculties created since the opening of KazGU in 1934. The faculty consists of 3 departments: press and electronic media; UNESCO, international journalism and public media; publishing-editing and design art. A special department of the faculty-Teleradiocomplex them. M. Barmankulova, channel “Al-Farabi”, radio “Al-Farabi”, photo laboratory. Currently, more than 800 students, undergraduates and PhD students are studying journalism.

- Turakty bylym beru – turakty damu”Sustainable development is development that meets current needs without threatening the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Science and education for sustainable development. Modern scientific research works to save human lives. Education for sustainable development enables all people to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes. This section includes books by Steve Bartlett “Research in Education”, Salnikov, “Sustainable Innovative Development”, Delovarov, “Migration Processes in the Context of the Changing Realities of Globalization and Sustainable Development”, etc., published within the framework of “Spiritual renaissance”.
- «Halykaralyk zhurnalistika zhane mediya»The Department of UNESCO, International Journalism and Social Media was established in 2011 by merging the Departments of Media Management and Advertising, International Journalism and UNESCO in order to obtain the status of a research university of KazNU. The Department trains specialists in the specialties “Public Relations” and “International Journalism”. This section includes “Foreign Journalism” by N. Chingizova, “International Standards for UNESCO Journalism in Kazakhstan” by L. Akhmetova, “Gardening Legislation and Ethics” by O. Oshanov, as well as books by Ibraeva, Rozhkov, Dudinova, Mysaeva, Tlebergenov, Bekbolbaildy, Bekbolbaida , Bekbolbaydy.
- «Zhurnalistika – alyp mukhit» Journalism is the link between the government and the people. Golden bridge connecting the two sides. Journalism is a complex field. In general, the concept of “journalism” can be described as “the creative processing of current events and topical problems in society and their dissemination through the media (television, print, Internet, radio)”.
