In Al-Farabi KazNU, within the framework of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, the Al-Farabi library hosted a conference “Global Challenges of the XXI Century and the Environment.”
Currently, modern global challenges and problems are interconnected, and their solution affects the future of civilization. Global Qatar arises as a result of the uneven development of various sectors of modern mankind, its relations with nature and the environment, as well as relations with socio-economic, socio-natural, political-ideological and other people.These issues concern all mankind and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Since ancient times, the Kazakh people have turned tabagat into an ancient system of development and formation of their entire economy, life support. In the Kazakh nomadic life, along with nature management, excellent examples of respect for nature and its protection have developed. Thanks to this, the future generation has absorbed a communion with nature.
In connection with this event, the Library. Al-Farabi organized an informational and documentary exhibition.

- Brief overview of the exhibition
Gylymi zertteuler The works of the faculty were presented. In particular, S. K. Myrzaalieva presented the textbook “Environmental Chemistry” by B. Kh. Tusupova “Methods of Geoecological Research”.
Zhagandanu zhane ecologialyk kauіpsizdik The book “Greening production in the Aral Sea region” is presented. The book describes the problems of the Aral, Balkhash and Semipalatinsk nuclear and military test sites, the Caspian region. The authors of the book are A. Nurgyzarinov and K. Shapshanov. The section of the exhibition was replenished with books on many environmental issues and environmental monitoring.
Climatology In addition to books, newspapers and magazines were presented in this section of the exhibition. Article “The consequences of global warming are worrying the world.”.
Kazakstandaky Koryktar In this section, the “Red Book of the Republic of Kazakhstan” is presented as one of the main books. The books “The flora of Kazakhstan” and “Aksu desert” were also presented. The books were presented at a high level. Keeping nature clean, protecting it, creating an ecological environment is essential for the future of our country and humanity. Consequently, ecological struggle is the basis of the struggle for life.
