Dear researchers, teachers and students, Web of Science is hosting the International Online Conference “Kazakhstan and Web of Science: 10 Years of Progress in Scientific Information”.
This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the access of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the international platform Web of Science. We are very glad that this event coincided this year with the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan! This period became an era of progress and sustainable development. In particular, since 2011, when a national subscription to the Web of Science became available to scientists and researchers of the country for the first time, the number of publications in Kazakhstan has increased more than 7 times. And this is just the beginning – scientific organizations and higher educational institutions of the country have a huge potential that has yet to be realized.
At the Conference we will discuss issues of publication activity, development of open access policy, evaluation of scientific projects implemented by academic and research organizations.
There will also be reports from representatives of the international company Clarivate, leading universities and scientific organizations of Kazakhstan, Russia and the UK. The leaders of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Clarivate Scientific Division – Mukhtar Ahmed, representatives of the US Embassy and Consulate in the Republic of Kazakhstan will address the conference participants with a welcoming speech.
Due to the restrictions on events due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Conference will be held in a virtual format on the Majorel platform
