From April 22 to 25, 2026, the XIII International Conference “Modern Trends in the Development of Academic Libraries” (IALC-2026) is being held in the city of Taraz. The event is organized by M. Kh. Dulaty Taraz University at the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Association of University Libraries of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
This year, the conference is dedicated to the theme “The Library in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: International Experience and the National AI-SANA Program.” The event is held in celebration of National Book Day and within the framework of the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
IT specialists, as well as Zh. Arekenova, Director of the Al-Farabi Library, are participating in the conference. During the event, she will present a report on digital transformation and the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in university libraries.
IALC-2026 serves as an important international dialogue platform, fostering the exchange of professional experience, discussion of current issues, and presentation of modern solutions in the field of librarianship.
