The China–Central Asia Publishing Center has been officially inaugurated at KazNU

At the Al-Farabi Library, within the framework of the event “Book Culture of the Silk Road — Dialogue of Civilizations,” a ceremonial opening of the China–Central Asia Publishing Center was held at KazNU. This large-scale event is aimed at elevating cooperation between Kazakhstan and China in the scientific, cultural, and educational spheres to a new level.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Board – Rector of the University Zh.T. Tuimebayev, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty Su Fangqiu, Vice President of Xi’an Jiaotong University Cai Wei, as well as representatives of the scientific and academic communities of both countries. In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of international partnership and highlighted the role of the new center in strengthening integration in science and education.

During the event, a representative of Xi’an Jiaotong University, Han Yongjun, solemnly presented a certificate confirming the transfer of 274 copies of books to the collection of the Al-Farabi Library.

On the occasion of this event, a thematic book exhibition was organized at the Al-Farabi Library, featuring the following sections:

  • “Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China”
  • “Chinese Studies in Kazakhstan”
  • “China: The Celestial Empire”
  • “Chinese Literature”
  • “Unity of Scholars — The Path to Success”

The section “Cooperation between Kazakhstan and China” presents publications dedicated to the history and development stages of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The section “Chinese Studies in Kazakhstan” introduces academic literature on the Chinese language, writing system, and linguistics.

The section “China: The Celestial Empire” features books on the history, culture, literature, and modern development of China.
