Today, a ceremonial event dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the outstanding scholar, academician, prominent figure in science and education of Kazakhstan, and Rector of the university from 1970 to 1986, Ömirbek Arystanuly Zholdasbekov, was held at the Library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
As part of the юбилей, a special book exhibition was organized from the library’s collections, featuring publications that comprehensively reflect the scholar’s life journey, his pedagogical activity, scientific achievements, and exceptional organizational talent. The exhibition included his scientific works, monographs, articles, as well as memoirs written by his contemporaries and students. The display aimed to present a thorough overview of the scientific school he founded and his significant contribution to the development of national science.
In addition, guests of the event had the opportunity to ознакомиться with photographs, archival documents, and rare editions illustrating the key stages of the academician’s professional path. A documentary video dedicated to his life and work was shown, vividly highlighting his devotion to science, his high pedagogical ethics, and his personal integrity.
During the event, academicians, members of the faculty, and the scholar’s students delivered speeches, emphasizing his outstanding merits in the field of science and education and respectfully underscoring his role in mentoring the younger generation. In their recollections, they warmly spoke of his high standards and care, his visionary leadership, and his sincere dedication to science.
