At the college of Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi, an educational and musical event titled “Kui Ana – Dina” was held to mark the 165th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh composer and kuishi, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, Dina Nurpeisova. Students of groups PK-103 and ISK-115 took part in the event.
The organizers were Chief Librarian-Manager Aliya Muratovna Kozhabekova and Kazakh language and literature teacher Altyn Shakerzhankyzy.
The purpose of the event was to promote the life and creative legacy of Dina Nurpeisova as one of the most prominent representatives of Kazakh kui art, to popularize national musical culture, and to foster young people’s interest in and respect for traditional art.
During the meeting, participants were introduced to the biography of the kuishi and the history behind the creation of her works. Kui compositions by Dina Nurpeisova were performed on the dombra, giving the event a special atmosphere of spirituality and continuity of tradition.
As part of the event, a thematic book exhibition was organized. The display featured publications dedicated to the life and work of Dina Nurpeisova, including Eltutqa, Tarikhi Tulgalar, Kuishi Dina, Dina Kuishi, and Asemqonyr.
Visitors were also presented with works on the history of traditional Kazakh kui art and instrumental music, such as Famous Kazakh Kuishi. 9th–20th Centuries, Babalars Sozi. Legends of Kui, History of Kazakh Kui, Kazakh Instrumental Music: From Kui to Symphony, Anthology for the Sazsyrnai Instrument, Ancient Melodies of the Great Steppe: Instrumental Ancient Tunes and Traditional Kui Art, My Kind Mother, Dina, and History of Kazakh Instrumental Music of the 20th Century.
The event contributed to strengthening students’ interest in national values and to a deeper understanding of the rich heritage of Kazakh kui art.
