On November 11, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the presentation of a ten-volume collection of works by the great Kazakh poet and master of aitys Suyunbay Aronuly. The publication includes the poet’s aitys, reflections, dedications, poems, and dastans, as well as studies analyzing their historical and poetic value, and translations of Suyunbay’s works into Turkish, Kyrgyz, and English.
Representatives of the creative intelligentsia took part in the presentation: Honored Worker of Kazakhstan N. Kapalbekuly, Deputy Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan K. Begmanov, Head of the Department of Culture of the Almaty Region T. Gumarov, University Rector, Professor Zh. Tuimebayev, as well as Professors Zh. Dadebayev, K. Abdezuly, B. Karibayev, A. Maulenov, and other distinguished guests. The participants expressed their sincere wishes to the compilers of the multi-volume work and highly praised their work.
Chairman of the Board – Rector of KazNU Zhansseit Tuimebayev emphasized the significance of the event dedicated to the 210th anniversary of the birth of Suyunbay Aronuly and noted that the work on systematizing and preparing the ten-volume edition of the poet’s works was carried out by the university’s Zhambyl Scientific Center for Philological Studies.
As part of the event, a special book exhibition was organized from the collection of the Al-Farabi Library. The exhibition featured books by Suyunbay Aronuly, publications about his life and work, encyclopedias, newspaper and magazine articles, which attracted great interest from guests.
The event concluded with a concert program prepared by artists from the Suyunbay Almaty Regional Philharmonic.
