Brief overview of the exhibition

Media and Information Literacy

Digital technologies have made available an amount of information that was previously impossible even to imagine. It has become even more important to be able to analyze, critically assess, recognize truthfulness, use effectively and clearly communicate information in various forms. This is called information literacy. Information and media literacy is very important considering how and in what volumes we consume information. All these topics are closely related to education, with the creation of conditions and opportunities for the accession of the national higher education system to the Bologna process.

Information culture

This part of the exhibition presents literature on the information culture of society. Information in all spheres of our life as a part of culture, education, economy. We are introduced to this topic by the book by D. P. Shorokhov “Formation of a civic position, the specifics of the presentation of information and the peculiarities of ethical aspects in the system of media and information literacy.”

Media Education – Improving Youth Literacy

The third part of the exhibition opens before us educational, medical, popular publications on the topic of journalism, PR, communication and other subjects. Here are books on information technology. A monograph can be noted
L. S. Akhmetova “Media and information literacy among young people in the field of national security.”

UNESCO – a guide to media literacy

The fourth part of the exhibition is dedicated to the UNESCO strategy on media and information literacy. Here we should note about the Sustainable Development Goals – 17 goals adopted by the UN. The final document of the UN General Assembly “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” contains 17 global goals. Presented here is the book by E. Byrd “Media as Partners in Education for Sustainable Development”.
