The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a republican scientific and practical conference entitled “M. Dulatuly – Educator, Public Figure, One of the Founders of the National Education System”, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh educator, public and state figure, poet, writer, and representative of national journalism Mirzhakyp Dulatuly. The event was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the AMANAT party, the Zhastar Rukhy organization, the Association of Museums of the Almaty Region, the Akhmet Baitursynuly Institute of Linguistics, the International Society of the Kazakh Language, and the Scientific Center for Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery.
The main goal of the conference was to comprehensively study and promote the educational, political, and pedagogical legacy of Mirzhakyp Dulatuly, who made a significant contribution to the spiritual revival of the Kazakh people, as well as to conduct a scientific analysis of the continuity of his ideas with the modern education system and concepts of national education.
A book exhibition was prepared for this event from the Al-Farabi Library collection. The exhibition featured books by Mirzhakyp Dulatuly, literature about his life and work, encyclopedias, and periodicals, which aroused great interest among the guests.
The conference included an awards ceremony for the winners of the essay contest “ Қазақ үшін шам қылған жүрек майын” and the poster contest “Ұлт руханиятының алтын тұғыры”, organized by the youth wing of the AMANAT party. – “Жастар рухы”. Special anniversary medals dedicated to the 140th anniversary of Mirzhakyp Dulatuly were also presented.
Such scientific and practical meetings create broad opportunities for the younger generation to study national history, correctly understand spiritual and cultural roots, and expand their scientific worldview.
