Strategy for Successful Publication on the UN Sustainable Development Goals using Scopus, SciVal, and ScienceDirect
On March 5, 2026, a seminar-training titled “Strategy for Successful Publication on the UN Sustainable Development Goals using Scopus, SciVal, and ScienceDirect” was held at the Al-Farabi Library. The main purpose of the event was to introduce researchers to effective publication strategies aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and to present the capabilities of international scientific databases and analytical platforms.
The seminar speaker was Rabiga Khojamkul, Elsevier Consultant for Central Asia and Azerbaijan. In her presentation, she discussed the opportunities provided by the Scopus, SciVal, and ScienceDirect platforms and highlighted their role in improving the quality of scientific research, selecting appropriate journals for publication, and enhancing the international visibility of research results.
During the seminar, participants received practical guidance on developing publication strategies, selecting suitable journals, analyzing citation metrics, and effectively presenting research outcomes to the international scientific community.
Approximately 50 researchers, faculty members, young scholars, and other interested participants attended the seminar. The participants exchanged views and experiences on improving the quality of scientific publications and working with international research databases.
The seminar-training served as an important platform for strengthening research publication activities and enhancing the scientific and information competencies of researchers.
