On February 16–17, 2026, the Al-Farabi Library organized the charitable campaign “Donate a Book to the Library,” dedicated to International Book Giving Day. The event took place in the reading hall on the second floor of the library from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. and brought together representatives of the academic community, public figures, and readers.
The main objective of the campaign was to enrich the library’s collection with high-quality and relevant literature, contribute to the development of education and science, and promote the culture of book donation in society as an important spiritual tradition.
The campaign saw active participation from the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Kanat Auesbay; the Center for Intercultural Communication and World Languages; fourth-year international students of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature under the supervision of Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor-Researcher S.B. Begaliyeva; individual entrepreneur Nurzhan Kaliyev; Director of the Al-Farabi Center Pirimbek Suleimenov; Doctor of Philosophy Tursyn Gabitov; the Adalkitap Publishing House; as well as faculty members, staff, students, and alumni of the university.
The library received scientific works, textbooks and teaching manuals, works of fiction, popular science publications, valuable editions, and original manuscripts as donations. All materials underwent careful selection in accordance with the thematic and typological profile of the library, as well as their scientific, historical, and literary significance.
The campaign made a significant contribution to strengthening the spiritual connection between the library and its readership, fostering respect for knowledge and responsibility for preserving intellectual heritage. Donating books is not merely a good tradition, but a strategic investment in the intellectual future of society.
