President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev paid a special visit to Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
During his visit to the country’s leading university, the Head of State got acquainted with the innovative projects of the educational institution, met with the teaching staff and young scientists.
The President got acquainted with the museum expositions dedicated to the heritage of the great thinker of the East Al-Farabi, the results of scientific and innovative projects of KazNU scientists.
The Rector of the University Zhanseit Tuymebayev reported to the Head of State on the plan for the implementation of the second stage of construction of the KazNU campus, the construction of educational buildings, office housing and student dormitories.
The university is currently ranked 175th in the QS World Rankings.
The head of state supported the initiative to transform the educational institution into a research university and the KazNU modernization plan.
The President noted the importance of the university’s activities in training highly qualified specialists, gave specific instructions to improve the quality of education, increase the contribution of science to the development of the country and modernize the university campus.
On March 16, 2022, President K. Tokayev delivered a Message to the people of Kazakhstan: “New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization”, which indicates the vectors of democratic transformations in Kazakhstan. These days, our country is entering a new phase in its history.
In connection with this event, the Library. Al-Farabi organized a book exhibition.

The purpose of the exhibition: using the documents available in the library fund, to reveal the new reforms taking place in our country, to present the works of the President, as well as other public and political figures of Kazakhstan, dedicated to important stages in the formation of independent Kazakhstan, incl. foreign policy of Kazakhstan; show the history of the university and the scientific achievements of the teaching staff.

Obviously, without amendments to the Basic Law, it is impossible to effectively implement the planned large-scale reforms. Our citizens are asking themselves: “What is the new Kazakhstan?”. often asked. I think this question can be answered shortly and clearly. New Kazakhstan is, in fact, Fair Kazakhstan.

New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization; The exhibition opens with the section “New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization”, which presents the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K. Tokayev “New Kazakhstan: the path of renewal and modernization”, presented by the President on 16 March 2022.
The first section of our exhibition is devoted to the formation of an independent Kazakhstan and the modern domestic policy of Kazakhstan. Here are books that reveal the continuity of power (this is “Continuity of Power” in two languages, the book of academician Sultan Sartaev “We live in a constitutional space”, about the state symbols of the republic, as well as the annual messages of the President to the people of Kazakhstan. An article by rector Zh. Tuymebaev is presented in the newspaper “Egemen Kazakhstan” for March 18, 2022 “Zhana Kazakhstanstandy damytudyn algysharty” is a sign of support of the university staff for the new policy of the President.
Modernized foreign policy. In the section of the exhibition “Modernized Foreign Policy” the main works of the Head of State on foreign policy and diplomacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stored in the library’s funds, are exhibited. Readers are presented with the main works of the Head of State K. Tokayev “Nur men kolenke”, “Diplomacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “Under the banner of Independence: essays on the foreign policy of Kazakhstan”, “Foreign policy of Kazakhstan in the context of globalization”, etc., devoted to topical issues of diplomacy and foreign policy.
Foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.The section is represented by literature on foreign policy and diplomacy. History books were presented: “Formation of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy”, “Tauelsizdik zholyndagy diplomacy” by Murat Almasbekuly. There are also books on Kazakhstan’s cooperation with international organizations such as the UN, OSCE, NATO, SCO, CIS, etc. Here you can get acquainted with the monograph by A. Arystanbekova “Kazakhstan in the UN: history and prospects”, dedicated to the main areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN in the context of globalization.The speech of the First President N. Nazarbayev at the session in 1992, the manifesto “Peace. 21st century”, a book about the peacekeeping activities of Kazakhstan. The book “At the forefront of world politics. Kazakhstan in the UN Security Council – 2017-2018”, introduces us to the most striking events related to the work of Kazakhstan in the UN Security Council in 2017-2018. And also presented the literature on the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the OSCE.
The book is a treasure of wisdom; This section is devoted to the work and biography of the KazNU graduate in 1948, the Kazakh front-line writer, the founder of the detective genre in Kazakhstan, Kemel Tokaev. Kemel Tokaev is the author of dozens of books, including “The Soldier Went to War”, “The Mysterious Trail”, “Taskyn”. Here you can see both their first editions and a five-volume edition, which includes selected works of the writer. The writer’s biographies are devoted to the President’s books “Azamat. Kemel TOKAEV: omіri men tagdyry”, “The word about the father” in two languages and the university series “Onegeli omіr”.
History of University. This section of the exhibition presents literature on the history of the university, the scientific activities of the teaching staff, the achievements of KazNU. Al-Farabi.
New editions of al-Farabi’s treatises. This section of the exhibition is represented by new editions of al-Farabi’s works, among them al-Farabi’s treatises “Gylym turaly kitap”, “Philosophical treatise” and other works of the great scientist. So, in 2020, on the occasion of the 1150th anniversary of the great scientist, the encyclopedia “Abu Nasyr al-Farabi” was published at Al-Farabi KazNU.
Proceedings of the teaching staff.The section is devoted to the works of scientists of the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Journalism. In particular, these are the works of Doctor of Philology, Professor Zhanseit Tuymebayev on Kazakh linguistics, the history of the language; the works of professors Berikbai Sagyndykuly, Zhangara Dadebaev, Omirbek Abdimanuly, Bayan Zholdasbekova and others. In journalism, these are the works of Temirbek Kozhakeev, Marat Barmankulov, Sagatbek Medeubekuly, and others. The next rack presents the works of historians, lawyers, economists, geographers. The section is devoted to the works of university scientists in philosophy, religion, pedagogy, psychology. Here are the works of the teaching staff of the chemical and biological faculties. The section is completed by the works of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Faculty of Physics and Technology and the Faculty of Information Technology.
