In honor of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan in the House of Friendship of the city of Almaty, a republican forum “interethnic language of the great steppe” was held with the participation of representatives of ethnocultural associations fluent in the state language. The forum shows that in Kazakhstan, representatives of other nationalities study and use the Kazakh language as an interethnic language. This forum was attended by representatives of other nationalities who speak the Kazakh language from all regions of the country. In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, President Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich Tokayev stressed that “the Kazakh language should function as an interethnic language in the near future.” The forum was attended by experts in the field of philology and linguistics, linguists, members of the Assembly and youth organizations, during which representatives of other nationalities who are fluent in the state language, shared their experience of learning the language and shared their proposals to expand the scope of the state language.
In connection with this event, the Library. Al-Farabi organized an informational and documentary exhibition.

Brief overview of the exhibition
Tyl gumyry – Ult gumyry The first section of the exhibition presents research works on the language of ancient Turkic written monuments Orkhon Ensei written monuments and the language of Kultegin monuments and rare editions stored in our fund in the Arabic, Latin alphabet in 1929-1940: the book by A. Baytursynov Alip- bi (new instrument), published in 1926 in Kyzylorda, as well as the book by A. Baitursynov.In the series “Uly dala tulqalary”, approved by the Academic Council of the Institute of Linguistics named after Baitursynov, the publishing house “Shapagat-Nur” presented the works of correspondent scientists dedicated to the formation and development of leading Kazakh linguistic sciences, including Akhmet Baitursynov, Kudaibergen Zhongmetubanov, Ny Sauranbaev, Maulen Balakayev, Ismet Kenesbaev and others.
Kazakh til bilimi kylymynyk kalyptasuy men damuy This section of the exhibition was presented as a continuation of the first part. Here are the works of correspondent scientists published in the series “Anthology of Kazakh linguistics”.
Memlekettik til – Tauelsizdik tygyry The third section of the exhibition was devoted to the Kazakh language, the state language of independent Kazakhstan. This section began with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the work of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Elbasy N. Nazarbayev “The Era of Independence” and the winged words of the head of state “let the native language become the support of our spiritual liberation and state independence” and continued with the article of the President of the country k-Zh. Tokayeva “The Kazakh language is the soul of the Kazakh people.” Also, books on the topic of the language, published during the years of independence, were presented.
Tilge Kurmet – Elge kurmet The Kazakh language is the state language, which forms an understandable meaning for the citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organizing a social space and a culture of dialogue. This section presents textbooks, teaching aids, teaching aids on the methodology of teaching the Kazakh language by teachers-methodologists for students of the Kazakh language. And there are many teaching aids for teaching Kazakh as a foreign language.
KazNU galymdarynyn til bilimine koskan Ulesi The fifth section of the exhibition presents books from the history of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a list of defended dissertations in Kazakh linguistics from 1943 to 2021, stored in the funds of the Al-Farabi library, monographic works of KazNU scientists on language problems published by the publishing house “Kazakh University”.
