{"id":21840,"date":"2026-10-06T12:57:27","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T06:57:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elibrary.kaznu.kz\/ru\/?p=21840"},"modified":"2026-10-06T13:04:52","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T07:04:52","slug":"zhyr-alyby-zhambyl-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elibrary.kaznu.kz\/en\/node\/21840","title":{"rendered":"Zhambyl, the Great Bard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An international scientific and practical conference entitled <strong>\u201cZhambyl and the Relevant Issues of the Modern Era\u201d<\/strong> was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to mark the 180th anniversary of the birth of the great poet Zhambyl Zhabayev.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The large-scale event was attended by Malik Otarbayev, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Colonel General, Khalyk Kaharmany (People\u2019s Hero of Kazakhstan) Sat Tokpakbayev; Gani Mailybayev, Deputy Akim of Almaty Region; Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Chairman of the Board and Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University; Aziz Kazhdenbek, Head of the Youth Policy Department of Almaty; Meerim Kolbaeva, Head of the Department of Manas Studies, Folklore and Akyn Poetry at the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic; and Nasriddin Nazarov, a professor from Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference also brought together renowned scholars, university rectors, heads of research institutes, historians, philologists, university faculty members, and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As part of the event, a special book exhibition was organized at the university library.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Exhibition Objectives<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the book exhibition is to commemorate the 180th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev, the great Kazakh poet, zhyrau, storyteller, and distinguished representative of the art of aitys, by presenting his life and creative journey and highlighting his significant place in Kazakh literature and national spiritual culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition aims to showcase Zhambyl\u2019s literary legacy, the traditions of folk poetry, and scholarly research in the field of Zhambyl studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objectives of the exhibition are to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Present information about Zhambyl Zhabayev\u2019s life and creative career;<br>Introduce readers to the poet\u2019s literary heritage in a comprehensive manner;<br>Highlight Zhambyl\u2019s multifaceted talent as an aitys performer, zhyrau, storyteller, and poet;<br>Explore the thematic and artistic features of his works;<br>Introduce scholarly and research publications devoted to Zhambyl studies.<br>Exhibition Sections<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Zhambyl, the Titan of Poetry<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This section features publications dedicated to Zhambyl Zhabayev\u2019s life, his development as a poet, the formation of his creative identity, and his significance in the history of Kazakh folk poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition will begin with a bibliographic index prepared by the Al-Farabi Library in honor of Zhambyl\u2019s 180th anniversary, providing information about the poet\u2019s life and creative legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The section also features the following publications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">U. Agybayev, \u201c\u0416\u0430\u043c\u0431\u044b\u043b \u0436\u044b\u0440\u043b\u0430\u0493\u0430\u043d \u0431\u0430\u0442\u044b\u0440\u043b\u0430\u0440\u201d (Heroes Celebrated in Zhambyl\u2019s Poetry) \u2014 a collection of research articles devoted to the heroes who defended their homeland. The book tells the stories of batyrs, including the renowned Karasai, who drew strength from the spirit of their people and devoted their lives to the struggle for the freedom and independence of the Kazakh nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">S. Begalin, \u201c\u0416\u0430\u043c\u0431\u044b\u043b\u201d \u2014 a book devoted to the life and creative work of the great akyn Zhambyl Zhabayev. It explores the traditions of aitys, one of the most significant forms of Kazakh verbal art, highlights the social conditions and contradictions of the period, and illustrates the path toward the highest achievements of poetic mastery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u0416\u0430\u043c\u0431\u044b\u043b \u04d9\u043b\u0435\u043c\u0456 \u0493\u0430\u0441\u044b\u0440\u0493\u0430 \u0442\u0435\u04a3 \u0493\u04b1\u043c\u044b\u0440 = \u041c\u0438\u0440 \u0416\u0430\u043c\u0431\u044b\u043b\u0430: \u0436\u0438\u0437\u043d\u044c, \u0440\u0430\u0432\u043d\u0430\u044f \u0432\u0435\u043a\u0443 = Jambyl\u2019s Time: Life of a Century\u201d: photo album, 1846\u20131945, 1996, 191 pages. Published in Kazakh, Russian, and English, this album commemorates the 150th anniversary of Zhambyl Zhabayev, a distinguished son of the Kazakh people and a great master of folk poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other publications revealing different aspects of the poet\u2019s life and creative legacy are also included in this section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Suyinbay, My Master and Mentor<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This section focuses on the creative personality of Suyinbay Aronuly, who had a profound influence on Zhambyl\u2019s development as a poet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Zhambyl held Suyinbay in the highest esteem and regarded him as his teacher and spiritual mentor. Suyinbay\u2019s creative legacy is essential to understanding the origins of Zhambyl\u2019s poetic mastery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The section features the following publications:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201c\u0421\u04af\u0439\u0456\u043d\u0431\u0430\u0439\u201d \u2014 selected works by Suyinbay Aronuly, compiled on the basis of collections published in 1935, 1975, and 1990.
